A financial leader who values building community
Infusing 40+ years of wealth stewardship with a warm, caring demeanor that turns clients into loyal friends.
Robert’s leadership and likeability started early in life. He was a standout athlete, but it was the relationships that meant the most to him. While earning his B.A. at Brown, his peers elected him captain of both the football and baseball teams.
Then the AFL, NFL and MLB all drafted him—one of the few players to ever be sought by three different leagues. He chose the NFL and played for the Minnesota Vikings for several years before starting his financial services career.
After working as a stockbroker with Paine Webber in Boston, he was tapped by Rhode Hospital Trust National Bank to become an investment advisor managing $400 million in assets. He then was appointed Fleet National Bank’s youngest-ever Vice President. He headed up the Pension Division, overseeing the management of over $1.2 billion.
From there, Robert co-Founded The Providence Group Investment Advisory Company in 1976, counseling individuals on investments and managing retirement funds. He served as the company’s Principal and chaired its Investment Policy Committee, helping grow the company until its was sold to Fleet National Bank twenty years later.
After that sale in 1998, he established Hall Capital and grew it into the dedicated, loyal, welcoming group that offers expert financial services with uncommon personal service.
Robert’s other endeavors include serving on several financial and charity boards, serving as a Trustee Emeritus of Worcester Academy and Chairman of the Board of the Brown Football Association, and co-founding of the Ivy Football Group.
